The 3rd Kaustav Kashyap Baruah Memorial Inter-College Cricket Tournament 2026 got underway on 20 June 2026 at the historic Nurul Amin Stadium, Nagaon, ushering in another exciting chapter of inter-college cricket in the district. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Shri Rupak Mazumdar, Assistant Commissioner, Nagaon, in the presence of distinguished officials of the Nowgong Sports Association, including Shri Tapan Sarmah (Vice President), Shri Asim Kr. Bhowal (Treasurer), Shri Ujjal Baruah (Joint Secretary), Shri Amitabh Bora (Joint Secretary), Shri Debajit Das (Ground Secretary), and Shri Mrinal Kr. Hazarika (Sectional Secretary, Cricket).
The inaugural ceremony was further enriched by the presence of Guests of Honour — Shri Sadananda Payeng, Principal of ADP College; Dr. Mriganka Saikia, Principal of GNDG Commerce College; and Dr. Ramesh Nath, Principal of Khagarijan College — who were warmly felicitated by the organizers in recognition of their contributions to education and youth development. The opening ceremony marked the commencement of a vibrant and competitive sporting event, bringing together talented young cricketers from various colleges and fostering the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and excellence. With great enthusiasm and participation, the tournament promised several days of thrilling cricketing action, and the organizers extended their heartfelt best wishes to all participating teams for a successful and memorable campaign.
