As part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, the central Independence Day programme was successfully organised by the Nagaon District Administration at the Nowgong Sports Association Playground (Nurul Amin Stadium).
To make the special occasion more memorable and to promote peace, harmony, and stronger bonds between the administration and the general public, a friendly cricket match was organised at the stadium between District Commissioner XI and Nowgong Sports Association XI.
The match witnessed enthusiastic participation from both teams. District Commissioner Shri Debashish Sarmah, IAS, also actively took part in the match, adding to the excitement and grandeur of the Independence Day celebration. The friendly encounter beautifully reflected the spirit of unity, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
The match concluded with NSA XI securing a convincing six-wicket victory over DC XI in the Independence Day Friendly Night Cricket Match.
