The Nowgong Sports Association (NSA), originally established as the Nowgong Football Association in 1941, is one of Assam's oldest and most respected sports bodies. It was later renamed Nowgong Sports Club in 1951 and finally became the Nowgong District Sports Association in 1967.
NSA has played a pivotal role in promoting sports and nurturing talent in the region, with its home ground being the Nurul Amin Stadium, a key venue for football and cricket. With a strong focus on grassroots development, the association provides training and exposure to emerging talent. The association is best known for organizing the historic All India Independence Day Cup, first held in 1947. Through various sporting events and community initiatives, NSA continues to strengthen the sporting spirit and legacy of Nagaon district.
